At Taj Mahal Hi !! How are you ?
We had a short trip to India at the beginning of March. It was very impressive trip for us.
Since when I was a small child India was the mysterious country for me. The country where Buddha was born, the country where Buddhist priest Sanzou-houshi had a adventurous trip attended by Songoku,Gods of Hindu,Brave resolute Bengalese spear cavalrymen,a Hindu priest who trains himself lie down on a needle planted board,a magician who disappear into the night sky climbing up the rope that he threw up into the dark sky, etc, etc. India was the country where endlessly offered to me an entrance to a fantastic world. And to visit this country was my dream for a long time.
It was November of the last year, soon after we came back from the trip to China, that I decided to visit India. As I have very few knowledge about the country, I started to collect information about India.I could get a lot of information from Internet Website, and also from trip guidebooks.
On an elephant taxi But the information I got were stories that was cheated, did diarrhea in food, was served a hypnotic and was stolen all things that he had, and so on. Reading these stories, I began to feel as if I am going to step into dangerous pitch-dark mountain in a midnight where robbers and burglars are waiting. Anyway, I thought I had better pay full attention in case. And I decided participate in a package tour that a courier accompanies.
Soon I could found a package tour that is suitable for us. But I felt a little uneasiness to the tour, because it was planned to visit so many places in short time. Consequently, this hard schedule had caused us a painful trip.
Anyway, I understood we must not drink unboiled water in India so before we start I prepared a portable electric boiler and 5 large size bottle of tea.

After 14 hours flight from Nagoya, we arrived at Delhi. And our trip to the Golden Triangle started.

[ The Golden Triangle ]
At the Agra Fort with our guide Delhi, Agra and Jaipur - they represent and unravel the mystique that is India. New Delhi, the elegant capital with its wide roads, sprawling gardens and stately buildings, stand on the side of eight historical cities by the visionary rulers through the centuries. Agra, the capital of the glorious Mughal emperors, harbors the incomparable Taji Mahal, the exquisite marble monument that attracts millions of visitors every year. Jaipur is the enigmatic pink city of the Maharajas, the city of pomp and sprendor, of color and festivity, of a rich and regal past that continues into the present.
This is the golden triangle - a visit to which is essential to get a glimpse of India's rich past. Through the cities are very different in character from each other, their histories have been interconnected, bringing about a similarity in culture, tradition and lifestyle.
Under the grand Mughals, the three cities were linked through political alliances and cultural interchange. Architecture, arts and crafts were influenced by the mingling of Hindu and At the Fatehpur Sikri Muslim traditions, and the result was a unique synthesis which was reflected in the literary life and performing arts of the cities. With the establishment of British India, these three centers were absorbed within the fold of the empire, and their colorful histories took a new turn into the future. Located at a motor able distance from each other, these cities are easily accessible and form a must for every tourist.

India was a country as I expected. After we passed through the gate to the mysterious country, we were pulled into a fantastic world little by little. They made me recall the sight that I saw in a book when I was a child. Women and girls are mostly wearing a colorful native costume (sari). Men are wearing a mustache and putting a turban on their head. Cows are walking in a street. Of course old forts and buildings are wonderful. Especially, the Taj Mahal is very fantastic and attractive. The hotels we stayed were also very good, all necessary things were available and I need not to use the portable electric boiler that I brought from Japan.
At the Amber Fort I have read and heard much bad information about a tour in India. But there were no problems. We met a lot of kind people and saw many heartwarming scene. Some traveler says they do not like a street vendor. But I think to buy a souvenir from street vendors are a kind of enjoyable events in a trip.
On the second day at Agra, I had hurt my right leg stumbled on a step. And I had to walk with a stick. My painful trip was started. You can see the picture that I am standing with a stick.
As it was only point to point visiting to the Golden Triangle by bus, so I could not see much. In any other day, I would like to visit and walk around an Indian town and street. Anyway, it was very impressive trip. And I will never forget.

Well, Sayonara, and see you again soon.
